Tina Cruz
Tina Cruz is the founder of the Cruz Law Office based in Santa Fe and Taos, New Mexico. She began practicing law as a civil defense attorney in 2001 quickly realizing that representing the proverbial "dark side" and living the "city existence" was not a good fit for her. In 2011, she opted to return to her roots in northern New Mexico, moving back to live in her hometown of El Valle in the Sangre de Cristo mountains. She then "hung her shingle" as a sole practitioner representing clients in civil rights, employment and personal injury matters.
Throughout her 25 year career as a litigator Tina has dedicated herself to bar service through leadership positions with the National Conference of Bar Presidents, New Mexico Board of Bar Examiners, the New Mexico Hispanic Bar Association, and the State Bar of New Mexico, serving as State Bar President in 2020. Through her leadership as President of the SBNM, the Board of Bar Commissioners established the New Mexico Well-Being Committee in 2020. It is a standing committee comprising key stakeholders from different areas of the legal community, focused on examining and creating wellness-centered initiatives.
Through her bar service, Tina developed a passion for advancing conversations about women in the legal profession, with special emphasis on well-being and resilience.
