About
The Women in Trial Travel Summit (WITTS) is more than a summit—it's a movement. Founded to celebrate, support, and empower women trial lawyers, WITTS is where professional growth meets personal connection in unforgettable destinations around the world. We bring together an inspiring community of women who lead in the courtroom and seek adventure, balance, and belonging beyond it.
Each Punta Mita conference combines high-level legal education with intentional wellness and travel experiences, creating a space for women to recharge, connect, and return home both sharper and more fulfilled. Whether you’re here to expand your network, refine your skills, or rediscover your joy, WITTS welcomes you into a unique sisterhood of powerhouse women who lift each other up.
The first ever Women in Trial Travel Summit (WITTS) was held from April 1st through April 4th in 2022. Speaker sessions were held over three mornings, ending at noon each day so the women could enjoy their time in beautiful Punta de Mita, Mexico. There were five hosted events, including a welcome cocktail reception, lunch with keynote speaker, poolside cocktail hour with live mariachi music, dinner with a live Cuban band and beachside farewell brunch and champagne toast.
The 2nd, 3rd and 4th Annual Women in Trial Travel Summits were also held at the beautiful Conrad resort in Punta Mita, Mexico, during early April. Our 5th Annual WITTS Punta Mita event will be held from April 28 - May 2, 2025 at the Conrad resort again.
Next Punta Mita Event: April 28 - May 6, 2026

Meet Lauren Wood
Lauren Wood is the founder of the Women in Trial Travel Summit (WITTS) and owner of Travel is the Cure LLC, a company that hosts small group trips and conferences for women lawyers. Lauren came up with the idea to host a women's conference after being disappointed by what she's seen at other professional events. Lauren wanted to create a safe space for women where they can share stories, talk about their cases, learn from one another, network and develop greater bonds on a more intimate level. Whether it's at the main conference in Mexico or a small group trip in Tuscany, Lauren aims to connect women lawyers with one another in a space that is inviting and accepting, while also enjoying the beauty and culture of far-flung international destinations across the globe. She wanted to combine her two passions: being a trial lawyer and her love of travel. And so, WITTS was created as a creative space to marry the two.
Lauren's Work in the Courtroom
With over twelve years immersed in the field of litigation and trial advocacy, Lauren Wood stands as a seasoned professional specializing in plaintiffs' personal injury and wrongful death cases. As the founder of L Wood Law Corp, Lauren has navigated a diverse range of legal matters, showcasing her expertise in trials, arbitrations, and alternative dispute resolution methods.
Lauren has been at the forefront of numerous trials, where she often assumed the role of the solo trial attorney or lead chair.
