Join Lauren Wood, host of the Women in Trial Travel Summit, for an unforgettable small-group journey through Thailand, where vibrant culture, world-class cuisine, and island relaxation come together in perfect balance. This thoughtfully curated itinerary moves from the historic energy of Bangkok, to the dramatic limestone coastlines of Phuket, and ends in the laid-back luxury of Koh Samui. As with all WITTS Small Group Trips, the focus is on meaningful experiences, beautiful settings, and ample time to relax and connect.

This curated 8-day, 7-night experience blends luxury, adventure, culture, and connection—with an opportunity to earn 3 hours of MCLE credits* in paradise.

Your trip begins in Bangkok, where you’ll explore the vibrant heart of Thailand. Visit ornate temples, glide along the Chao Phraya River, and savor the city’s world-famous cuisine on a private tuk-tuk night food tour. Enjoy luxury accommodations at a five-star hotel with meeting space for our morning MCLE session, then fly south to the tropical island of Phuket for five nights of relaxation and discovery, ending the trip in Koh Samui for two final nights.

In Phuket, unwind on white-sand beaches, enjoy a private catamaran charter through the emerald waters and limestone cliffs of Phang Nga Bay. In Koh Samui. you'll visit a local ethical elephant sanctuary for an inspiring up-close experience. Take part in a private Thai cooking class, indulge in world-class dining and spa treatments, and enjoy plenty of free time to recharge, reflect, and connect with your fellow women lawyers.

As with all WITTS trips, everything is taken care of for you—from accommodations and transfers to curated group experiences and seamless logistics—so you can simply show up, relax, and immerse yourself in the magic of Thailand.

This isn’t just another vacation. It’s a chance to connect with like-minded women, share stories from the courtroom, and experience Thailand’s warmth, culture, and cuisine in true WITTS style.

*Pending certification with the State Bar. Number of credits are dependent upon the number of speakers and time spoken on the trip. A minimum of 6 speakers is required to offer CLEs. If attendees fail to participate, no MCLEs will be applied for.

Ethical Elephant Morning

Today you'll get to choose between an ethical elephant sanctuary experience focused on observation, education, and feeding, or a wellness-forward morning such as yoga or spa time. The afternoon is free to explore Koh Samui’s beach clubs, boutiques, or simply relax by the water. Dinner is also free for attendees to explore local restaurants or stay at a beach club past sunset. For those who wish to continue the evening and dine together, the hotel will have a variety of different restaurant options to choose from.

Saturday, November 7

Travel to Koh Samui

After breakfast, you will travel with the group to Koh Samui, an island known for its relaxed luxury and natural beauty. The afternoon is intentionally left open for guests to enjoy the beach, pool, or spa at their own pace. Optional sunset cocktails provide a low-key opportunity to reconnect and take in the island’s softer, slower rhythm. Koh Samui has a more relaxed pace, and attendees are encouraged to mimic that relaxation and set aside some time to unwind.

After submitting an application, all applications will be reviewed by WITTS organizers. If accepted, you will receive an invitation to attend the trip and will be sent a link to pay a non-refundable $1,000 deposit. Your spot cannot be held without paying the deposit. You will have three (3) days to pay the deposit; after which, if payment has not been received, an invitation to the trip will be extended to someone else. After paying a deposit, 50% of the remaining balance will be due 90 days prior to the start of the trip, with the full balance due 60 days prior to the first day of the trip.

Please make sure to read our Code of Conduct prior to signing up

This is a group trip.  If you cannot be respectful and kind to other attendees, then this trip is not for you. If you cannot commit to being on time—as a courtesy to other attendees—then this trip is also not for you. Similarly, if you do not do well in a small group setting, you may want to reconsider attending.  If travel stresses you out, then traveling in a group setting probably won't be any easier. If you are particular about sharing a room with people, then you are strongly encouraged to book a single. In sum, negativity on group trips has the ability to ruin other people's trip. For this reason, you are strongly encouraged to think about whether a group trip is right for you before signing up.

If you can commit to being respectful of other attendees, are open to trying new foods and experiences, and are looking for a trip where you will bond with like-minded female trial lawyers and women in the legal industry, enjoy incredible dishes and see what the Thailand has to offer, then it would be our pleasure to host you.

*All attendees are required to purchase a travel insurance policy that includes medical coverage. While any travel insurance policy with medical coverage will suffice, attendees are strongly encouraged to purchase a policy with Cancel for Any Reason coverage. In the event that life gets in the way last minute and you are required to cancel within thirty (30) days of the trip for a reason that is not covered by typical insurance policies, Cancel for Any Reason coverage may help get some of your money back. Please read the entirety of our cancellation policy, along with general Terms & Conditions, HERE.

Flights & Travel Information

You will want to book a Multi-City trip, which can easily be found on Kayak or Google Flights, then purchased directly through the airline. Attendees should aim to depart the US between morning and midday on Sunday, November 1st, and arrive in Bangkok at Bangkok Suvarnabhumi (BKK) in the evening. Be careful: some flights you will find depart TWO days prior to arrival! For departure from Phuket, choose a flight home from Phuket City (HKT). Flights  departing that day get back the same day.
