July 1 - 8, 2024

Join a group of women on the WITTS Small Group Trip to Greece in July of 2024! Enjoy a mix of culture, history, food and beautiful beaches in the Greek Islands.  Attendees will start off in Athens, where you'll tour the Acropolis, the Parthenon, the Panathenaic Stadium and more. Then you'll fly to the picturesque island of Santorini. The sunsets in Oia are just breathtaking! Here, you'll stay two nights in Santorini where you'll shop, dine and stroll through the cute towns of Fira and Oia. Next, you'll take the ferry to the nearby island of Naxos, where you can get a flavor or more traditional Greek culture. Naxos is known for incredible food, wine and olive oil, so you will eat and drink your way through Naxos on this three day part of the trip. Choose to either depart home on Monday, July 8th, or stay a couple days longer and do the Mykonos add-on.

3 hours of MCLE ethics credits will be offered for this program. Pending certification with the State Bar.

Arrive in Athens

Travelers to Athens will depart the US on Sunday, June 30th and arrive in Athens the following day (Monday). You'll be picked up by private transportation and taken to your hotel in Athens city center. Depending on everyone's arrival times, there will either be a hosted dinner together or a free evening. Use the evening to get situated in your hotel and either explore Athens' nightlife or stay in to rest for the day ahead. Tuesday is a big day, where we'll see many of Athens' historical sites.

Tuesday, July 2

Athens Historical Sites

On your first full day in Athens, you'll take a guided walking tour of all the popular sites to see: the Acropolis, where you'll explore the Parthenon before the crowds show up, see the iconic Temple of Hephaestus, and lose yourself in the winding streets of Plaka. You'll also visit the New Acropolis Museum and later the Panathenaic Stadium. While the modern Olympics started in 1896, this stadium dates back to the 4th century BC. Later that evening, the group will enjoy a hosted dinner together at a local restaurant.

Head to Santorini

After a quick breakfast at the hotel, we'll head to the airport to catch a short flight to Santorini (note: this flight is included). Arriving in Santorini in midday, we'll drop our bags at the hotel and walk the streets of Oia. There, you can shop, dine and drink your way through the picturesque blue and white buildings. Later that day, we'll check into the hotel, get settled, and then go back out into town for a free night. Since this is a free night, attendees can choose to either go out on the town or stay back at the hotel to rest and recharge.

Thursday, July 4

Full Day in Santorini

There are so many wonderful things to see and do in Santorini. After breakfast, we will visit the town of Fira, where you can shop in cute artisan shops and enjoy walking through the beautiful streets. The group will have the afternoon free to stay in town or head to a nearby beach. It is the 4th of July, after all, so attendees will choose whether or not they want to stay in town or celebrate our very non-Greek holiday in a bikini by the beach. That evening, we will all join back up together for a hosted dinner at our hotel.

Head to Naxos

After a quick breakfast at the hotel, we'll take the ferry to the nearby island of Naxos (ferry included). Arriving in Naxos in midday, we'll again drop our bags at the hotel and head out to see the famed Temple of Apollo. Built in 530 BC, this huge marble gate stands on the islet of Palatia and looks out over the sea. You'll also get a chance to walk through town. Later that day, we'll check into the hotel, get settled, and then go into town for a free night. Since this is a free night, attendees can choose to either go out on the town or stay back at the hotel to rest and recharge.

Saturday, July 6

Boat Day!

Yep, you guessed it: we'll be having a boat day! Usually one of the best days on a WITTS Small Group Trip, you'll spend the day out on the water in a private catamaran charter. Spend a wonderful day exploring the highlight spots of the coastline of Naxos, while soaking up the sun, snorkeling and enjoying the stunning white sand beaches. This is a full day charter, so once our boat day is done, we'll head back to the hotel. The evening will be free to either relax at the hotel or keep the party going and check out the nightlife.

Naxos Food & Olive Oil

In the morning, we'll spend a few hours doing MCLEs. On these trips, we always do ethics CLEs since they tend to be the peskiest to obtain when it comes time to do the reporting. After our morning educational sessions, we'll take off in the afternoon to explore the Melanes Valley's olive groves, ancient wonders, and Eggares valley's food paradise. Witness olive oil production, cheese making in a hidden farm, and savor Naxian farm flavors at a local tavern. That evening, we will enjoy a final hosted meal together as a group.

Monday, July 8

Depart Home... or to Mykonos

The official one-week Greek Island trip ends today, but if you choose to extend your trip, you can also add on a two night stay in Mykonos before heading home. Those attending the main trip will take their own flight back to Athens (in case you choose to stay on your own or head to another island) on Monday. If you opt for the Mykonos add-on, you'll board a ferry to Mykonos, where you'll check into a new hotel and head right into town. In Mykonos, we'll all do dinner together and then hit up one of its famed nightclubs.

Shop artisinal crafts and clothing amidst the stunning white walls, blue roofs and pops of pink bougainvillea. That evening, we will choose as a group how we will spend our last night in Greece. Please Read Before Signing Up

Whether you are a new attendee or have attended a prior WITTS Group Trip , please read the following terms, as the terms have changed:

Space for this trip is limited and it is anticipated that it will fill up quickly. After registration, you will be sent a link to pay a non-refundable $1,000 deposit. If you've been on a prior WITTS trip, you may have noticed the deposit is higher. This is because the constant booking and cancellation of attendees is very difficult to accommodate and—because July is peak season to travel to Greece—nearly all the hotels, tours and catamaran charter are prepaid.  Your spot cannot be held without paying the deposit. You will have three (3) days to pay the deposit; after which, if payment has not been received, your spot may be given away to someone else. After paying a deposit, 50% of the remaining balance will be due 90 days prior to the start of the trip, with the full balance due 60 days prior to the first day of the trip.

You may have also noticed the price of this trip is higher than some in the past. Again, this is because July is PEAK SEASON for Greece, meaning it's the most expensive time to go. But what that also means is that we are nearly guaranteed to have beautiful, warm weather—perfect for beach and boat days where we can soak up that beautiful Aegean sun.

This is a group trip.  If you cannot be respectful and kind to other attendees, then this trip is not for you. If you cannot commit to being on time—as a courtesy to other attendees—then this trip is also not for you. Similarly, if you do not do well in a small group setting, you may want to reconsider attending.  If travel stresses you out, then traveling in a group setting probably won't be any easier. If you are particular about sharing a room with people, then you are strongly encouraged to book a single. In sum, negativity on group trips has the ability to ruin other people's trip. For this reason, you are strongly encouraged to think about whether a group trip is right for you before signing up.

If you can commit to being respectful of other attendees, are open to trying new foods and experiences, and are looking for a trip where you will bond with like-minded female trial lawyers and women in the legal industry, enjoy incredible dishes and see what the exciting Greek Islands have to offer, then it would be our pleasure to host you.

*All attendees are required to purchase a travel insurance policy that includes medical coverage. While any travel insurance policy with medical coverage will suffice, attendees are strongly encouraged to purchase a policy with Cancel for Any Reason coverage. In the event that life gets in the way last minute and you are required to cancel within thirty (30) days of the trip, for a reason that is not covered by typical insurance policies, Cancel for Any Reason coverage may help get some of your money back. Please read the entirety of our cancellation policy, along with general Terms & Conditions, HERE.

Flights & Travel Information

Flights to Athens depart the US the day before and arrive the following day. There are no direct flights out of LAX. Attendees are encouraged to try for a morning flight out of the US, so that they arrive mid-morning in Athens. However, you are welcome to arrive at any time on Monday, July 1st, as no group trips or excursions are planned on that day.
