Just twelve women, one sponsor and your host will make up a group of fourteen for this one-of-a-kind opportunity to visit the exciting country of Japan. Attendees will take in the wonderful things that Japan has to offer, while simultaneously checking off three hours of MCLE* credits. No detail is overlooked, and guests will enjoy luxury accommodations, private tours, private transportation and delicious meals. 7 Day Itinerarys
Sunday, October 5
Tokyo Sightseeing
After breakfast, we'll head out on a walking tour of Tokyo. You'll see the Imperial Palace, the famed Shibuya Crossing, Tokyo Tower and the Meiji Jingu temple. Lunch will be provided. After the temple, we'll visit Harajuku and Takeshita Street, and later an animal cafe where you can interact with various animals while enjoying tea. That evening, we'll do a private food and culture tour of Tokyo's best street food. That evening will be free to enjoy Tokyo's vibrant nightlife.
Saturday, October 4
Meet in Tokyo
Book your flight to Tokyo Haneda Airport (HND) and aim to arrive in the afternoon or early evening. Once at the airport, you'll be picked up by private transportation. On Saturday, you'll meet up with the group at the hotel, where you will check in and get situated in your room. Since attendees arrive at various times, this afternoon and evening will be considered "free time" where attendees can choose to sleep off the jet lag, book restaurants of their choosing, shop in Shibuya or book a massage at the hotel (recommended to do in advance).
Monday, October 6
MCLEs + Free Day
After breakfast, we'll do 3 hours of MCLEs at our hotel. Today is a "free day" after the educational sessions, where you can choose to shop, visit Tokyo's landmarks and museums, or simply relax back at your hotel. There are so many things to do in Tokyo, so you should use this free day to your advantage! Book one of Tokyo's many famed Michelin Star restaurants (recommended to do in advance) and enjoy a true omakase sushi experience, where many of Tokyo's best sushi restaurants only seat 7-12 people. The shopping in Tokyo is also incredible.
Tuesday, October 7
Travel to Kyoto
After breakfast, we'll take the Shinkansen train to Kyoto (train tickets included). This is a high speed train that takes passengers from Tokyo to Kyoto in just 2 hours. We'll enjoy ramen for lunch upon arrival in Kyoto. After lunch, we will check into our hotel and head out to visit Kyoto's best temples: the Fushumi Shrine and the Kiyomizu-dera Temple. That evening, we will do a sake tasting before heading dinner at a local eatery in Kyoto. After dinner, attendees can choose to stay in and rest or go out on the town.
Wednesday, October 8
Geisha Ceremony
After breakfast, you'll head out to see the Bamboo Forest, then Kyoto's Silver Temple, the Teneryu-ji Temple. That afternoon, you'll enjoy a private Tea Ceremony where you'll dress in a kimono and watch a traditional tea ceremony with a real geisha. After the tea ceremony, we'll head back to the hotel to relax before dinner, get freshened up, and then head back out together for a traditional kaiseki (multi-course) dinner in Kyoto. This will be your last night in Kyoto, so you're encouraged to try The CommonOne Bar or the Hideaway Bar.
Thursday, October 9
Travel to Nara
After breakfast, we'll take the JR line rapid train to Nara, which is a 45 minute ride. After arriving in Nara and dropping our bags at our hotel, we'll do a private tour of Nara, with friendly local guides who are not only knowledgeable but also passionate about their city. Once the capital of Japan, Nara is famous for its serene temples and a shrine, stunning garden, and the iconic free-roaming deer. Dinner will be free to enjoy a restaurant of your choosing, where street food is a great option.
Friday, October 10
Travel to Osaka
After breakfast at the hotel, we will take the JR Yamatoji line train from Nara to Osaka, which takes about 50 minutes (train tickets included). We'll leave our bags at our hotel in Osaka and then head to the LV Cafe. We'll spend the afternoon shopping and walking the streets of Osaka and then meet in the lively entertainment area of Dotonbori, known for its gaudy neon lights, extravagant signage and the most iconic street food! We'll nosh on various Osaka favorites, like takoyaki, okonomiyaki and kushikatsu. This is our last night together as a group.
Saturday, November 9
Depart Home
After breakfast, you'll say your goodbyes to the group and head over to Osaka Kansai International (KIX) for your departure flight. Most flights leave in the evening, arriving in the US the following day. If you choose to leave in the evening, you can use this as a free day to visit any of the sites you missed or want to return to. All attendees will be provided with transportation to the airport, no matter what time they leave. Attendees departing from other locations or airports need to book their own transportation.

Please Read Before Signing Up
Whether you are a new attendee or have attended a prior WITTS Group Trip , please read the following terms, as the terms have changed:

Space for this trip is limited and it is anticipated that it will fill up quickly. After registration, you will be sent a link to pay a non-refundable $1,000 deposit. If you've been on a prior WITTS trip, you may have noticed the deposit is higher. This is because the constant booking and cancellation of attendees is very difficult to accommodate and nearly all the hotels and tours are prepaid well in advance of the trip. Your spot cannot be held without paying the deposit. You will have three (3) days to pay the deposit; after which, if payment has not been received, your spot may be given away to someone else. After paying a deposit, 50% of the remaining balance will be due 90 days prior to the start of the trip, with the full balance due 60 days prior to the first day of the trip.
You may have also noticed the price of this trip is higher than some in the past. This is because Japan is VERY EXPENSIVE to travel to, compared to most places in the world.
This is a group trip. If you cannot be respectful and kind to other attendees, then this trip is not for you. If you cannot commit to being on time—as a courtesy to other attendees—then this trip is also not for you. Similarly, if you do not do well in a small group setting, you may want to reconsider attending. If travel stresses you out, then traveling in a group setting probably won't be any easier. If you are particular about sharing a room with people, then you are strongly encouraged to book a single. In sum, negativity on group trips has the ability to ruin other people's trip. For this reason, you are strongly encouraged to think about whether a group trip is right for you before signing up.
If you can commit to being respectful of other attendees, are open to trying new foods and experiences, and are looking for a trip where you will bond with like-minded female trial lawyers and women in the legal industry, enjoy incredible dishes and see what the exciting country of Japan has to offer, then it would be our pleasure to host you.

*All attendees are required to purchase a travel insurance policy that includes medical coverage. While any travel insurance policy with medical coverage will suffice, attendees are strongly encouraged to purchase a policy with Cancel for Any Reason coverage. In the event that life gets in the way last minute and you are required to cancel within thirty (30) days of the trip, for a reason that is not covered by typical insurance policies, Cancel for Any Reason coverage may help get some of your money back. Please read the entirety of our cancellation policy, along with general Terms & Conditions, HERE.

Flights & Travel Information
You will want to book a Multi-City trip, which can easily be found on Kayak or Google Flights, then purchased directly through the airline. Attendees should aim to depart the US in the early evening on Friday, October 3rd and arrive in Tokyo at Tokyo Haneda Airport (HND) in the early afternoon. For departure, choose a flight home from Osaka Kansai International (KIX). Flights departing that evening get back the following day, on Sunday.
