Join Lauren Wood, host of the Women in Trial Travel Summit, for an unforgettable small-group journey through Sicily in the summer of 2025. This exclusive experience brings together a community of accomplished women lawyers for a week of adventure, connection, and culinary indulgence on one of Italy’s most captivating islands.

From the glamorous coastline of Taormina to the vibrant streets of Palermo, every detail of this trip has been carefully curated. In Taormina, you’ll explore the dramatic landscapes of Mount Etna on a private 4×4 adventure, indulge in a long-table lunch and wine tasting at an Etna DOC vineyard, and spend a full day aboard a private catamaran sailing along the Ionian Sea. In Palermo, immerse yourself in the city’s art, culture, and cuisine—wander through lively markets with a local guide, take part in a private Sicilian cooking experience, and visit the awe-inspiring Monreale Cathedral before closing the trip with a farewell dinner.

As with all WITTS trips, everything will be thoughtfully arranged for you—from luxury accommodations and private transportation to curated tours and fine dining—so all you have to do is arrive and enjoy. But this is more than a vacation—it’s an opportunity to share stories, recharge, and build meaningful connections with other women in law while experiencing the very best of Sicily. This intimate experience offers a unique opportunity to explore the vibrant culture of Sicily while earning 3 hours of MCLE credits*.

*Pending certification with the State Bar. Number of credits are dependent upon the number of speakers and time spoken on the trip. A minimum of 6 speakers is required to offer CLEs. If attendees fail to participate, no MCLEs will be applied for.

7 Day Itinerarys

Sunday, June 21

Jeep Tour +Winery

After breakfast, you'll spend the day exploring the power and beauty of Mount Etna on a private 4×4 adventure through ancient lava fields, craters, and hidden caves. After a morning of discovery, you’ll unwind at a family-owned Etna DOC winery—savoring a guided tasting and a long-table lunch set among the vines. Return to Taormina by mid-afternoon for a relaxed evening of spa time, shopping, or simply strolling the charming streets at your own pace. You'll enjoy a hosted dinner that evening together with the group.

Meet in Taormina

To arrive on time, book a flight that leaves Friday, June 19th. Book your flight to Catania Fontanarossa (CTA), departing the US in the evening on Friday and arriving in Sicily in the afternoon or early evening on Saturday. Once at the airport, you'll be picked up by private transportation. You'll then meet up with the group at the hotel, where you will check in and get situated in your room. Since attendees arrive at various times, the afternoon and evening will be considered "free time." We'll still meet up for a welcome aperitivo and take an optional stroll through Corso Umberto and Teatro Greco at night.

Boat Day!

If you've been on a prior WITTS trip you know it well: Boat day is the best day! In the morning, we'll depart for Giardini Naxos Marina, where we will meet the captain of our private catamaran. You'll swim in Isola Bay Blue Grotto and Mazzaro Cove. Lunch will be provided on the boat. Since we'll spend the entire day out on the water (and the combination of sun, swimming and dancing can often be tiring), the evening will be considered free time where you can choose to try a restaurant of your choosing or order room service and rest up back at your hotel room.

Tuesday, June 23

MCLEs +Palermo

After breakfast, the group will meet for 3 hours of MCLEs, which will take place at your hotel. After that you will check out of the hotel, stop for lunch together, then make the three and a half hour drive westward to Palermo. If there's time, you'll stop in Cefalù for a brief walk through the old town & Norman Cathedral. That evening, you'll check into our hotel in Palermo, which will be your home for the rest of the trip. After checking in, you'll join up with the group again for a dinner at a traditional Palermo restaurant.

Food Experience

Today is all about food! In the morning, you'll head out on a guided private walking food tour through Capo & Ballaro markets, where you'll find arancine, panelle, sfincione and cannoli. In the afternoon, you'll enjoy a private cooking class in a Palermo palazzo kitchen, where you'll learn to make dishes like pasta alla Norma or caponata, followed by lunch with Sicilian wines. The afternoon and evening will be free for you to use the spa, shop the town or enjoy cocktails at one of Palermo's beautiful rooftop bars.

Thursday, June 25

Culture +Connection

Enjoy a leisurely morning before an afternoon immersed in art and history with a private guided visit to the magnificent Monreale Cathedral, famed for its golden Byzantine mosaics and sweeping views of Palermo. You'll see UNESCO mosaics and incredible art, all while having a guide explain the history. As the sun sets, you'll celebrate the week with a memorable farewell dinner together. End the night in true Sicilian style with optional live jazz or cocktails on a rooftop terrace overlooking the city.

Depart Home

While the trip is officially over, we'd be willing to bet that you'll hold a piece of Sicily in your heart after this trip. And hopefully you'll head home with some new friends. After breakfast, you'll say your goodbyes to the group, check out of the hotel and be taken by private transfer to Palermo Airport (PMO). All attendees will be provided with transportation to the airport on this day. However, attendees departing from other locations or airports need to book their own transportation.

Please Read Before Signing Up

Whether you are a new attendee or have attended a prior WITTS Group Trip , please read the following terms, as the terms have changed:

After submitting an application, all applications will be reviewed by WITTS organizers. If accepted, you will receive an invitation to attend the trip and will be sent a link to pay a non-refundable $1,000 deposit. Your spot cannot be held without paying the deposit. You will have three (3) days to pay the deposit; after which, if payment has not been received, an invitation to the trip will be extended to someone else. After paying a deposit, 50% of the remaining balance will be due 90 days prior to the start of the trip, with the full balance due 60 days prior to the first day of the trip.

Please make sure to read our Code of Conduct prior to signing up

This is a group trip.  If you cannot be respectful and kind to other attendees, then this trip is not for you. If you cannot commit to being on time—as a courtesy to other attendees—then this trip is also not for you. Similarly, if you do not do well in a small group setting, you may want to reconsider attending.  If travel stresses you out, then traveling in a group setting probably won't be any easier. If you are particular about sharing a room with people, then you are strongly encouraged to book a single. In sum, negativity on group trips has the ability to ruin other people's trip. For this reason, you are strongly encouraged to think about whether a group trip is right for you before signing up.

If you can commit to being respectful of other attendees, are open to trying new foods and experiences, and are looking for a trip where you will bond with like-minded female trial lawyers and women in the legal industry, enjoy incredible dishes and see what the Japan has to offer, then it would be our pleasure to host you.

*All attendees are required to purchase a travel insurance policy that includes medical coverage. While any travel insurance policy with medical coverage will suffice, attendees are strongly encouraged to purchase a policy with Cancel for Any Reason coverage. In the event that life gets in the way last minute and you are required to cancel within thirty (30) days of the trip for a reason that is not covered by typical insurance policies, Cancel for Any Reason coverage may help get some of your money back. Please read the entirety of our cancellation policy, along with general Terms & Conditions, HERE.

Flights & Travel Information

You will want to book a Multi-City trip, which can easily be found on Kayak or Google Flights, then purchased directly through the airline. Attendees should aim to depart the US in the evening on Friday, June 19th and arrive in Taormina at Catania Airport (CTA) in the early afternoon. If you have the additional time away, it's actually easier to fly out a day earlier to Rome, stay a night in Rome, and then fly to CTA the following day. For departure, choose a flight home from Palermo (PMO) on June 26, 2026.
