Joey Florentino
Join us for a Personal and Professional Safety Class customized for WITTS attendees. Wellness begins with the confidence to keep you and your family safe. One gains peace of mind through preparedness—a calm to know you can handle difficult or dangerous situations. We are excited to continue with personal and professional safety as a key component of overall wellness.
Last year, Joey focused on developing a strong safety and emergency response mindset, physical self-defense, and active shooter.
Based on comments and requests from many attendees, this year will focus more on protecting one’s self in the home, various safety/security upgrades (“hardening the target”), emergency response planning for you and your family, and the pros and cons of owning a firearm (to include training recommendations, best firearms for home defense, whether a firearm may or may not be right for you, etc.).
Class will conclude with detailed instruction on Trauma First Aid, focusing on major bleeding control, airway management, innovative tools and techniques that are now available to the civilian market, and special considerations for treating injuries to children.
Your Instructor: Joey Florentino spent over 30 years in law enforcement, retiring as a Chief of Police. He worked a variety of assignments during his career, including five years on SWAT. He has been an instructor in active shooter prevention/response, workplace violence, and personal/professional safety, for 25 years.
