

Mayra Fornos
Mayra Fornos is a professional Mediator with ADR Services Inc. and is a legal educator and strategist with over thirty years of experience as a distinguished trial attorney and litigator. She has extensive experience in working closely with plaintiff and defense counsel to facilitate optimal outcomes for all stakeholders over a broad range of legal disputes for individuals as well as Fortune 500 companies. Her experience in the courtroom has equipped her with a deep understanding of the trial process and of jury behavior…experience which has served her well in effectively assessing the risks of going to trial and case valuation considerations for the benefit of both the plaintiff and defense in reaching a resolution in their cases, both pre and post litigation.
Ms. Fornos serves on mediation panels for the U.S. District Court, Central District and for the Los Angeles Superior Court. In addition, she serves as a Settlement Officer for LASC’s Mandatory Settlement Conference (MSC) Program - Resolve Law L.A. Most recently, Ms. Fornos was selected to serve as a member of the City of Los Angeles’s Equity Review Panel to avail the City of her extensive experience advising and consulting on disputes.
She has a multi-cultural background enhancing her service to a diverse clientele. These include cases of (1) catastrophic and traumatic personal injuries; (2) employment matters
including employment discrimination involving ethnicity, gender, disability, etc.; (3) sexual harassment/abuse; (4) elder and dependent adult abuse; (5) civil rights; (6) the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA); (7) conservatorships; (8) business/commercial and contract disputes; and (9) copyright and trademark infringement matters.
Ms. Fornos has received numerous awards and accolades. She has been listed in Best Lawyers in America since 2011, Super Lawyers since 2012, and was named one of the Top
50 Women Attorneys in Southern California. Her Fornos Law Firm, apc has been listed as a Best Law Firm Tier 1. The Westside Chamber of Commerce Women’s Network conferred upon Ms. Fornos their “Women of The Year” Award and has honored by the County of Los Angeles for her legal and philanthropic contributions on behalf of the seriously injured and disabled.
Ms. Fornos has received extensive mediation and negotiation training at various institutions, including Pepperdine University’s Strauss Institute for dispute resolution. She has served in the University’s Caruso School of Law – “Strauss Institute Mediator’s Competition” as a judge.
Ms. Fornos is frequently sought out as a speaker and moderator for legal seminars, hospitals, conventions, webinars and podcasts. In addition, she has authored numerous legal
articles involving many aspects of the law and social concerns. Ms. Fornos has been featured in the Daily Journal; Los Angeles Times; Culver City Observer; CAOC Forum Magazine; CAALA Advocate Magazine; Wheel:Life Magazine; and OYA Magazine.
Emigrating to America with her family from Cuba at a young age during the Cuban Revolution, Ms. Fornos speaks fluent Spanish and her multicultural background enhances her
ability to serve a diverse client base effectively. In addition to her Juris Doctor degree from the University of West Los Angeles School of Law, Ms. Fornos holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from California State University Long Beach. Ms. Fornos is the founder of Fornos Law Firm, apc and has held “Of Counsel” position at the preeminent firm, Nelson & Fraenkel, LLP.
Mayra is committed to community service, founding the Ralph's Riders Foundation, a 501c (3) non-profit organization serving individuals with spinal cord injuries and other mobility challenges.
