Edyth Kaufman

Eydith (“Eydie”) Kaufman is a panelist for Alternative Resolution Centers. In addition to private mediation, she gives back by serving as a volunteer mediator for the community. She has over 25 years of experience as a civil litigation attorney, including working in high volume trial firms and handling a variety of cases including medical malpractice, wrongful death, commercial and contractual disputes, sexual harassment, and personal injury, among other areas. She has worked cases on both the defense and plaintiff side.

With her background in medical malpractice and complex injury cases, Ms. Kaufman has a deep understanding of the causation issues that can impact liability and damage assessments. She has experience in multiple areas of litigation and excels at aiding the participants to achieve collaboration using creative solutions where needed. As a litigator, she gained extensive experience mediating cases for her clients, so she understands the importance of crafting an efficient and effective mediation. She is tenacious and will work tirelessly as a neutral to help the parties move through injuries, insults and impasses to avoid the risks, stresses and costs associated with further litigation.

Ms. Kaufman taught Insurance Law as an Adjunct Professor of Law at the University of San Diego and has served as an Advisor and Guest Lecturer at PIMA Medical Institute. She is passionate about helping people through mediation and is an avid music lover, who plays guitar and dabbles in drumming.
